This has honestly probably happened a lot? Kaneki was the Weird Loner at their school, and school kids are rarely kind.
First: respect is gone. Instantly. No joke, no lie, no hesitation. Hide will associate with these people for whatever he needs them for, but no farther.
Second: ...... probably makes a comment to the effect of "look at the time!", excuses himself, refuses any prodding for explanations why, and leaves. He's a polite kid so he wouldn't attack them directly or argue in Kaneki's favor (that's always giving bullies more fuel for the fire), but he wouldn't be able to stand someone talking smack about his bff. fast forward to any other interaction with these guys and he'll be so blandly Polite Nice Fake that it might rub them wrong, but he'll never ever directly say why, more like "you have bad taste..." or something sly and passive aggressive like that. Never apologizes. Forgets them, for all intents and purposes. Might think of what they Had Been somewhat fondly but even that would be tarnished. Hide is not quick to forgive... he doesn't see a reason to, if someone proves to be that shitty of a person.
Third: if these guys were stuck in a spot of trouble, Hide wouldn't go out of his way to help them. . . . . . . he wouldn't go out of his way to let them be HURT, or to cause them any major trouble (at worst, he'd add in to any gossip about them, let social power take its course), but he wouldn't make it a point to aid. Just. Such bad taste! Such idiocy! What wastes of time... Total losers, they don't know what they're talking about, those kinds of thoughts/feelings.
So he'd be PA and distant toward them for a loooong time after unless he saw them doing something genuine for Kaneki, but nothing overt. Alas, he's too Civilized Citizen for outright murder. Also he likes networking for future manipulation purposes soooo completely alienating these people would be a poor choice.
